Another great evening of fellowship, community updates and learning at the Rotary Club of Port Hope!
Co-President Bruce Coleman opened the meeting by welcoming members and our guests: Christiana, a prospective new member and a guest of Christine Thomson, Diane Millington, Jim’s wife, Wendy Schroder and Sue Stickley from the Friends of Wesleyville Village and Jeremy Taft, member of the Rotary Club of Trenton and our clubs Assistant Governor.

Rotarian Ian Jarvis led us in the Rotary Prayer, followed by the Land Acknowledgement read by Bruce.
Ian also shared a few words about the first annual Turkey Vulture Festival, held right here in Port Hope over the weekend. What a unique and wonderful addition to our community!
A delicious dinner was served by Lisa’s Catering from Bewdley. Thank you once again for keeping our Rotarians so well fed!
Secretary Ron Tuttle shared a thank-you note from the RoseQuest School program, acknowledging a donation received through the Philps Trust Fund. It is always rewarding to hear how Rotary support is making a difference in our community.

The highlight of the evening was our presentation from Sue Stickley and Wendy Schroder of Friends of Wesleyville Village, introduced by Co-President Bree.

L to R: Wendy Schroder and Sue Stickley, Vice-Chair and Chair of the Board of Directors
They shared an update on the tremendous work underway to preserve and revitalize Wesleyville Village, including progress on renovations, conservation efforts and plans for the future for the church, school and the “Y” house.
Friends of Wesleyville Village also keeps this historic place very much alive through an impressive variety of community events, educational activities and experiences throughout the year — including public education walks, concerts, an escape room and self-guided tours using QR codes.
Their annual activities include the Easter Egg Hunt, Spring Market, Step-Around Weekends, Keynote BBQ, Indigenous Cultural Weekend, Ghostly Visit and Yuletide Caroling.
The next chapter of this remarkable community project is focused on securing Wesleyville Village for future generations through continued fundraising, conservation work, restoration and public engagement.
Thank you, Sue and Wendy, for joining us and sharing the story, progress and future of Wesleyville Village. It was wonderful to learn more about the work being done to preserve this special part of our local history.
Another informative and enjoyable Rotary evening, bringing people together, learning more about our community and celebrating those working to make it stronger.

Community Raffle – Two Great Local Causes!
Rotarian Adam Pearson also updated the Club on his latest fundraising efforts, which the Rotary Club of Port Hope is helping to facilitate.
The Community Raffle brings together support for two wonderful local initiatives - the 15th Annual Queenie’s Toy Drive and the 10th Annual Tammie’s Jammies.
All net proceeds from the raffle will be divided 50/50 between the two initiatives.
And the prizes are pretty impressive!
Tickets are only $10 each
Grand Prize: ½ a beef
Plus eight 20 lb. turkeys!
A great chance to win while helping two community initiatives make the holiday season a little brighter for local families.
And Finally… Happy Bucks!
As always, we wrapped up our evening with Happy Bucks, sharing some laughs, good news and a little more Rotary fellowship before heading home. Congratulations to Kathy and Bob Wallace who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!
