Rotary Corn Roast and BBQ – August 25
The weather co-operated for our annual Rotary club corn roast and BBQ at Ron and Bonnie Tuttle’s house on the shoer of Lake Ontario in Port Britain. Seventy people enjoyed 9 dozen corn from McBride’s Farm Market on Lakeshore Road in Port Britain and 160 hot dogs.
People enjoyed each other’s company and the opportunity to walk around to see Bonnie’s gardens and to go down to the lake on the beach.
Thank you to the members of the Backroads band, Rob Boycott, Dylan Boycott, Gord Hunter and Greg, for the music they played.
Past-President Jan Boycott presented Ron and Bonnie with gift card to thank them for their hospitality.

Thank you for Movies in the Park Sponsorship
Ron received a thank you for our $2,500 donation to the town to help sponsor five movies in the park. Here is the thank you note.
“We wanted to send a huge thank you for supporting this summer’s Movies in the Park series! We absolutely couldn’t do it without partners like the Port Hope Rotary Club, and your support helped make this year another big success.
Across five movie nights, nearly 1,500 people came out to enjoy the films, including families, friends, and community members of all ages. The Rotary club was front and centre on screening nights, both during the pre-movie slideshow and in our opening remarks, so the audience heard first-hand the important role you play in bringing these nights to life.
Thanks again,
Jeannie Maidens and Cheryl Carty, The Events Team, Municipality of Port Hope”
