Community Thank You…Your Support Helps Us Help People. On behalf of the members of the Rotary Club of Port Hope, I want to thank each and everyone of the friend of Rotary in our community for your ongoing generous support…we can’t do what we do without your help.
As our Rotary year comes to an end on June 30, 2021, it has been my privilege to lead our club during an year of unprecedented public health issues that have affected all of us…in the 99th year of our club in Port Hope, we were determined to adapt and continue to help our community in this time of need.
Where does your money go? Our club is committed to return 100% of our fund raising dollars to the community…here are a few of the ways you have helped us donate over $30,000 this year:
- Donations to 5 local public schools for a safe start in September 2020
- Donation to Salvation Army for pandemic support
- Donation to Fairshare Foodbank for pandemic support
- Donation to Greenwood Coalition for pandemic support
- Pizza dinners for PSWs working in local Port Hope nursing homes
- Donation to local Port Hope family who lost their house due to a fire
- Remembrance Day wreaths honouring our CAF veterans
- Avenue of Heroes Banners – 11 new banners to add to the 29 from last year
- Sponsoring of the Port Hope Rolls Bus in December 2020
- Sponsoring the Farley Mowat 100th Anniversary Celebration
- Donation to the Beirut Hospital pediatric reconstruction project
- Donation to Shelterbox International
Rotary is about “ Service above Self “…very simply, we help people…and we could do it without your support every year.
