Brighton Corn Roast – August 11, 2025
The annual Brighton Rotary was held at Proctor Park on August 11th. Many Rotarians joined in to enjoy great food and fellowship as the clubs from Northumberland County joined together for this annual event. Port Hope was represented by John Mowat, Ron Tuttle and the Wallaces on this very hot summer evening.
The after-dinner entertainment featured each club singing Karaoke to their favourite song. Alas, the contingent from Port Hope left before the singing started, so we didn't take home the 8-ball trophy. We look to having more members attend next year.

Monday, August 25 - The annual Port Hope Rotary Corn Roast and BBQ is at Ron and Bonnie Tuttle’s house on the shore of Lake Ontario, 5 km west of Port Hope. It starts at 5:00 p.m. with dinner at 6:30. It is always a great event. Ron would like some help to set up on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. and to put things away on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m., so if you’re available, please let him know. The rain date for the Corn Roast is Tuesday, August 26.
September 8 – Rotary meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall – Speaker: Haylee Jolicouer, our Returned YE Student who lived in Finland last year
September 8 – Board Meeting after the club meeting
September 22 – Rotary meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall – Speaker: District Governor Niecy Dillon-Tyrovolas
Some clubs like the Cobourg Rotary Club go all out for the karaoke contest and bring props.
