Rotary meeting Feb 2 2026
We met at The Youth Wellness Hub for 5:00pm. We enjoyed a guided tour of the facility and then met up again at the Knights Hall for our meeting.
Our guests were Yvonne O’Neil Irina Davidson and Marg Tait. Ken led us in the toast to Canada and the Monarchy. Lisa Graham said Grace. Ken gave us our reconciliation moment “Is it the Truth”.
Dinner was a delicious chicken stew, salad and cheese and chive buns or plain buns. There was warm apple crisp for dessert.
Ron asked us if we were planning an activity to include Julia if possible.
Julia talked to us about the polar plunge she did. She had a sauna then warm shower then she went into galvanized tubs full of ice instead of the lake for 1 minute then back into sauna. Then they did a competition and she stayed in tub for 10 minutes. They raised $750.00 and were called “crazy canucks”.
Yvonne gave us a good news story about the education network and 8 reasons to celebrate Port Hope High School.
Fran is leaving treasurers role and Riley will be taking over.
Bob talked about Day of Caring working with the municipality. He also has 2 tickets left for Feb 5 Savor the Flavor in Whitby. There is a Food Packing event in Campbellford on Feb 21. Meet at 10 and lunch provided at 12.
Invitation March 6 International Woman’s Day at Cobourg Rotary and our District Governor Niecy is speaking. March 13 Celebration of 5 years Anniversary of Covid clinic.
Drini reminded that still need help for our flavour’s night, especially Sunday morning for takedown. Ron is looking after Silent Auction and looking for Donations
Foundation Night is our next meeting Feb 16. Spouses’ night.
